Vinyl Flooring Installation
Vinyl flooring is divided into two different categories, homogenous and heterogenous. Homogeneous flooring is a vinyl sheet made up of just one layer and the same all the way through, heterogeneous flooring is a sheet vinyl made using multiple layers, the backing then generally a photo layer with different designs on then the top clear wear layer. Vinyl comes in lots of different styles and designs to suit different applications.
Many vinyls are anti-slip which is commonly referred to as safety flooring. These can be used in lots of different areas such as kitchens and bathrooms. For wet areas such as shower rooms an extra level of anti-slip is needed so there are vinyls that are more coarse to the touch or even have raised bobbles on to give extra grip. These vinyls are also waterproof due to the ability to be welded together. Vinyl is great for hygiene too.
